Avnet which include launching the first IBM BPIC in Malaysia, establishing the SAP and SAS alliance, developed significant loyalty programs and marketing initiatives to drive market share that led to Avnet achieving its landmark accolade in Malaysia as IBM’s Partner of the Year in 2008. As a result of the successes he enjoyed in the marketing function, Chris took on a new challenge within Avnet to lead the IBM Software Division to build and increase market share in the IBM software business.
Prior to joining Avnet, Chris held several positions of sales and marketing in the IT sector. He started his career as a sales executive for surgical equipments for a pharmaceutical company, Smith + Nephew and soon moved into the IT industry with an award winning IBM reseller, SL Information Systems, in a marketing capacity. He later joined Exact Software, a multinational specializing in midmarket ERP solution as a Pre-sales Consultant for the next 2 years. He was the Marketing & Corporate Comm Manager for MyETutor.com under MOL.com Bhd for 3 years before joining Azure in 2003. Chris holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
